Tárrega called up for SPAIN UNDER-21S
The defender is included in the squad for two friendly fixtures
The current Valencia CF squad were graced with a visit from a former star this past week, as Fabio Aurelio made a brief return to what was once his home. The Brazilian, who won two LaLiga titles, the UEFA Cup and the European Supercup with the club between 2000 and 2006, visited the Ciudad Deportiva on Friday and was a guest of honour for the league game against Real Sociedad.
“It's always a pleasure, and very special. Coming back to Mestalla is like travelling back in time and you feel at home. I'm always grateful for the reception that the fans give me,” he told VCF Media on Saturday.
After praising the work done at Paterna in the VCF Academy, Aurelio also gave his verdict on the 2019/20 squad, saying that “It's the start of the season. The good thing is that they've kept on a large part of the squad from last year, which won the cup and got into the Champions League. I think this season promises a lot, and Valencia CF could achieve big things this year -if they maintain the same desire to work and team spirit. I think that they will win more trophies this season if that happens.”
